Are you a comic book fanatic? Do you own a ton of electronic formatted comics, but are having a hard problem finding a quick and easy way to view them on your Mac? Look no further because your answer is here. Viewing .cbr and .cbz (Comic Book Rar and Comic Book Zip) files on the Windows platform has been easy for many years as there are tons of applications made for this. Not so for us Mac enthusiests. But now we have a program, and a damn good one at that, to do it. ComicBookLover (formerly known as ComicBook Viewer) is not only easy to use, but pleasing to the eye like all Mac programs should be.
Organizing your collection is quite easy. You can either drag and drop them into CBL or just doubleclick the files. You can create Lists or Smartlists. If you'd like to use something from a page you can just drag it to the desktop and it will automatically extract it for you. You can bookmark pages, reorder them, whatever your heart desires. Simple. If I had only one complaint, and that's all I could come up with, I would say that it is a little overpriced. I feel that it would be best suited in the $15-20 range. But don't let that hold you back because the program is excellent and tech support thus far has been above par.
Because CBL fills a huge whole in a niche that the Mac had yet to get a foothold on and because of its relative ease of use I am awarding CBL the highest standard for reviews... The Golden Apple Award.
